Plans to increase the number of apprenticeship places - which could benefit workers enrolled on plumbing or electrician training courses - as part of the government's Skills Investment Strategy scheme have been welcomed by Perspective.
The learning management software company commented on the recent proposals outlined by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills that will see £4.4 billion being spent on making more opportunities available for vocational trainees.
Jim Davis, chairman of the firm, expressed his delight that more funding is to be made available.
He stated that it will help bring "those who have been unlucky enough to be unemployed throughout the whole of the recession back to work, providing them with the opportunities that they need to acquire new skills".
It is expected that some 3.4 million adult learners are set to benefit from the money injected into the provision of training places through the Skills Funding Agency.
