Not many people know they can train towards becoming a fully qualified Electrician on a part time basis, from HOME! Our Home Study Electrical Courses are becoming increasingly popular as they help aspiring students learn new skills around their existing commitments and save themselves from having to come in and train on a full time basis.
Today we'll speak more on our Home Study Option and outline how this route works. We'll also talk about the next steps and other Electrician Courses that may be of interest.
How Does It Work?
So after enrolling, we send you guys a 'Home Study Pack'. This includes the entire theory aspect of the course as well as other bits of essential information to prepare you for your 4 practical weeks and online exams at Able Skills.
Being here for 4 weeks doesn't mean 4 consecutive weeks though... You have the ability to pick and choose which weeks are best for you to undergo your practical training one week at a time. When will you be ready to undergo the practical training? As soon as you feel confident you know all the theory for the given practical week.
To give you extra help at home, we supply you with a 'SmartScreen' login giving you guys additional help with the course material. With a no pressure learning process, we're confident you'll be up to scratch when it comes to practical tasks.
Will I Receive The Same Qualification As Full Time Students?
Of course it does! The only difference is the home study theoretical learning. All students will receive a City & Guilds Certificate allowing them to receive their ECS Card and begin working on site.... Or even overseas! How? Having a City & Guilds qualification holds more weight than you think and opens up more doors than you can imagine. A lot of students find work abroad and end up travelling and working at the same time!
What Else Can This Course Lead To?
Students who complete their Home Study Electrical Courses and successfully achieve their Level 2 or 3 often gain some industry experience with the intention of achieving their NVQ Level 3 next!
There is more than one way to achieve this however, as you may already hold industry experience and are looking to achieve your NVQ Level 3 via the Experienced Worker Route! For those who may not know, this is a requirement for anyone looking to obtain their JIB Gold Card.
In a nutshell, the NVQ Level 3 is based upon your existing experience/qualifications, portfolio building and even assessments on site and at our dedicated AM2 Centre.
