We host a range of different trades here at Able Skills, one of our most popular is electrics. Within this trade there are many different electrical courses, not all of them are for people looking to become electricians. Some are for practicing electricians already working out in the industry, one of these is our Level 3 Award in Inspection and Testing - Which is perfect for those who have not carried out inspection and testing since qualifying or who require some kind of update in terms of training. This qualification helps you to develop the knowledge and practical skills required to professionally install and carry out initial verification and periodic inspection and testing on electrical installations! We currently have 5-spaces up for grabs starting Monday 3rd February 2020! We will release more dates for the remainder of the new year shortly...

 

 

What is Inspection & Testing?

 

Inspection & Testing is the procedure of checking that a circuit is working correctly and is completely safe before being energised. Electricians will use equipment to see if the electrical installation is functioning and complies with the latest wiring regulations - Which currently is the 18th Edition. This is a fundamental part of the electricians toolbox...the skill of Inspection & Testing but it is not used by all electricians as there may be specific people carrying out the inspection whilst others may be carrying out the installation and so on. It is applicable to all areas of electrical work whether this is domestic, commercial or industrial.

 

Our course:

 

Our Level 3 Award in Inspection and Testing Course is completely theory based and will prepare you for both written and online exams that will be taken here at our centre. In addition, candidates will; also need to successfully complete a 2.5 hour practical assignment; comprising of a full Initial verification and a Periodic inspection (combined within the same assessment) of a three-phase electrical installation, including completion of all appropriate documentation.
