Workers who have approved electrical skills could find themselves increasingly in demand, following comments from Rated People.
According to the website, the recession has caused property values to deteriorate, leading 68 per cent of Britons to believe home improvement projects are the best way to give their house price a boost.
Founder and chief executive officer of the firm Andrew Skipwith explained that this has resulted in a growing demand for the services of trained workers.
"Despite the clear downturn in the property market, we have seen a steady but marked increase in the number of home owners requesting professional assistance from tradesmen with home improvement projects," he said.
With major renovation work potentially requiring rewiring and tricky electrical jobs to be carried out, it could be that tradespersons who have taken electrician training courses receive an employment boost as a result of growing numbers of projects being undertaken.
Rated People helps homeowners find local, recommended industry professionals for their specific home improvement scheme.
