Technicians who have completed plumbing courses may have noted the expansion of merchants Taps, with a source from the firm describing it as an "exciting time" for the organisation.
Managing director Anne Ganley told the Journal that she is very happy with the location of the Sunderland-based business's new store in York and claimed the company were able to secure a competitive price for the premises.
The publication revealed that the shop is one of several new branch openings on the horizon for Taps, which could mean more jobs for students completing plumbing courses.
"We have been looking at York for some time and were ready to move around 18 months ago but the recession saw our plans put on hold," added Ms Ganley.
This week, Hiscox home insurance expert Austyn Tusler warned homeowners about the potential damage done by leaking pipes during cold weather conditions, which may see plumbers facing a busy period.
