The importance of tradespersons with approved plumbing or electrical qualifications could be underlined after it was announced today (November 30th) that two new housing developments have been confirmed for Northamptonshire.
According to the Evening Telegraph, financial support from the government's Kickstart fund has been approved for the Kingswood estate and Priors Hall sites in Corby.
The two schemes will see the construction of a combined 416 new homes by a consortium comprising North Northants Development Company and Corby Council, which is expected to contribute to aims to double the town's population by 2030.
Corby Council chief executive Chris Mallender commented: "The good news is that this will guarantee Corby's housing growth for the next two years."
Workers who have taken plumbing or electrician training courses could find themselves integral to preparing the homes to a high standard for the future inhabitants.
It was announced in October that Corby Borough Council and North Northants Development Company won the Joint Client of the Year title at the East Midlands Regional Construction Awards.
