Engineers who have completed electrical courses will be interested to see the details of npower's energy tariff aimed specifically at users of electrical vehicles (EVs).
The arrangement was unveiled at the Grand Designs Live event in London this week, with group project manager at the utility firm Rob Harper claiming it is time to "decarbonise the transport sector", according to Click Green.
While workers on electrical courses may still be getting to grips with the mechanics of EVs, they are likely to be more clued up than most consumers, as recent research by npower showed many people are unaware of how far the sector has progressed.
Commenting on the new tariff set to be available this summer, Mr Harper said: "As an energy company, we have a major responsibility to assist the UK government to meet its climate change targets and sustainability goals."
This week, EU climate change commissioner Connie Hedegaard told the Guardian that officials need to start implementing ambitious sustainability targets for beyond 2020.
