Britons who have successfully completed electrical courses and are looking to develop their skills further could benefit from a new national skills academy (NSA).
The Department for Business, Innovation and Skills announced last week that the Building Services Engineering Green Skills Academy will receive some £3 million of funding and coordinate skills training in installation, maintenance and design of renewable technologies.
And chief executive of SummitSkills Keith Marshall commented on the news by saying that it is a positive step for the industry that will help businesses and employers prepare for the fitting of devices such as solar panels.
"The new green skills academy will play a key role in ensuring that this skills capability is developed and that building services engineering can become more proactive in promoting the green agenda," he added.
It could be that qualified electricians and tradespersons benefit from the increased opportunity to learn new green skills.
