Tradespersons who have taken electrician training courses could find that the ongoing construction of the Olympic Park - for the London 2012 Games - highlights their importance to the building sector.
It was recently revealed by the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) that the big build of the site was progressing well, with significant milestones being passed in the delivery of the Olympic Stadium, Olympic Village, Velodrome, Aquatics Centre and International Broadcast Centre/Main Press Centre.
Chairman of the London 2012 Organising Committee Sebastian Coe underlined how important it is that the work is carried out to the highest possible standard, given the magnitude of the Olympics' audience.
"In a little under 1,000 days time, the eyes of the world will fall upon this part of east London. The area is being transformed, creating new communities, new housing and state-of-the-art sporting facilities," he said.
The ODA recently announced that the Olympic Park Apprenticeship Hub had been opened, which will provide a place for the 100 apprentices currently working on site to study and discuss future career opportunities.
