A painter and decorator from Suffolk has worked her way to the finals of the UK Worker of the Year competition, which seeks to recognise workers who exemplify what doing a good job is all about.
Anna Bettis has been whittled down to be one of the final six of 3,000 entries in the competition and will find out whether she can take the top prize at the Grand Final, which is taking place in Buckinghamshire on 2 November.
Anna has already had to sit through the finalists' interview event – where she had to sit down for an intensive interview with the five judges on the panel – so now it is just a mater of waiting to see how she does.
“I had the nerves at the start but the judges were accommodating and reassuring,” she said. “I am looking forward to the Gala, whoever wins will be the most deserving.”
The competition is sponsored by top workwear manufacturer, Dickies, and car manufacturer SEAT, and is intended to reward and promote excellence in the British workforce.
The competition’s winner will receive SEAT Exeo S Ecomotive 2.0, worth more than
