London’s biggest independent plumbing company, Pimlico Plumbers, is embarking on a new round of recruitment and is looking to create around 30 jobs.
The company is creating the jobs as part of an all-round expansion and many plumbing and gas engineers will be among the people taken on. The company’s human resources director, Dominic Ceraldi, said that they will be looking to job boards to try to appeal to the right kind of recruits.
“Right now we are looking to bring in another 30 people, including engineers, accountants and call centre operators,” he explained. “We don’t want to outsource the process; another firm couldn't understand our business as well as we do, and that is the key to finding the right people.”
The company is large enough that it has a dedicated HR team to take care of the applicant sifting process.
The company is one of the capital’s biggest construction and plumbing trade success stories. It was founded in 1979 by its current managing director, Charlie Mullins, and its brand has become a familiar sight around London through its canny advertising and publicity campaigns.
Its services are not confined to plumbing either, with specialist tradesmen providing electrical, roofing and heating services.
