Tradespersons who have taken plumbing training courses could find themselves in demand to install new environmentally-friendly boilers and heating in British homes, following new research.
According to the Pilkington energiKare MOT Your Home study, people appear to be putting more of an emphasis on the green credentials of property.
It found that 76 per cent of potential homebuyers saw the energy efficiency of a house as a deciding factor, with energy-efficient heating and boiling being two of the fittings that Britons were most concerned with having.
Television presenter and architect George Clarke - who is set to guest speak at the upcoming Ideal Home Show in April - commented: "What's important is that people are taking steps to change and recognising the added value greener living brings, such as cost savings and increasing the saleability of homes."
Workers with approved plumbing qualifications might consequently find that their services are desperately needed by growing numbers of Brits who want new, green boilers and heaters installed.
