Plumbing and Gas combined courses in the new year!
Thinking about a change in direction? There are great opportunities out there in the Plumbing and Heating industry. Many plumbers once qualified through plumbing courses often turn to the trade of gas, this is because the two trades go hand in hand when it comes to the appliances and tools used in both professions. Becoming self-employed as a plumber and then gaining the skill of gas can increase your earnings, amount of work and general reputation as a trader. Here at Able Skills we offer a combined course that first teaches you the trade of plumbing from scratch before taking on gas as a reduced rate. Currently this course is available starting from the 22nd of February 2021!

How does it work?
You will obviously not learn the two trades at the same time. The course will start with 6-weeks of Plumbing training, the instructors are experts in the trade and will be there to guide you right from the basics and will prepare you for the industry. Once you have completed the relevant assessments for this City & Guilds Level 2 qualification you will begin Gas training over an initial 5-weeks. They are both a mixture of practical and classroom based tuition and progress is monitored by way of multiple choice exams and theory/practical assessments.
During the initial 5-weeks of Gas training we will cover basic heating systems and heating controls, gas appliance functions and basic principles of flues and combustion. Upon successful completion of this course, you will be provided with a Bpec Foundation Portfolio and guidance for completion. Gathering evidence of gas work is needed when it comes to preparing for Gas Safe Registration which is a legal requirement here in the UK.

We are open 7-days a week between the hours of 8:30 - 16:30!
We are on the London & Kent border here in Dartford. If you live a considerable distance from our training centre then you should know that we have our own accommodation available exclusively for our students. Accommodation is located just a short walking distance from our training centre and can be booked for the reasonable price of £20 per night! - If you are interested make sure to contact us ahead of your courses starting date as spaces are limited!
