Plumbing and Gas courses back in action!
After being closed during the outbreak, we are back in force with training here at Able Skills. Obviously the centre will look slightly different and work differently with the new social distancing measures in accordance with government advice. Overall there will be fewer students at the centre at any given time, students will be separated and receive individual equipment and workstations as well as many other slight changes. However, this does not take away from the quality of training that we provide in any shape or form. In fact, our instructors are more fired up than ever to produce quality, experienced and professional new traders.
As you can see in the video above, students are wearing face-masks whilst getting valuable experience here at the centre as a precaution. It is very important to us that although we want to get the ball rolling when it comes to training, we make sure we are providing a learning environment that is safe for all. Whatever trade you are looking into, here in Dartford, Kent you can be sure that you'll receive quality training that will prepare you for the industry!

Our New Entrant Gas Training Package 2 is the best all-round option as it includes the three main elements that you need to start working out in the industry; 7-weeks of hands-on training, portfolio completion and an ACS assessment! This course will prepare you to take on a variety of different tasks within the trade. Our instructors are professional, friendly and highly experienced and can convey the lessons and ideas they learnt whilst on the job to our students in a way that is easy to internalise. You should expect to learn a lot! Becoming a qualified gas engineer is not easy, however, we have structured these packages in such a way that this process should be as straightforward as possible.
Looking for Plumbing courses?
If you want to become a qualified Plumber then our industry recognised City & Guilds Level 2 Plumbing Course will be your starting point. You will start with the very basics and progress to a comprehensive understanding of domestic plumbing covering both theory and practical sections to enable you to work successfully as a Plumber. This course will provide you with a range of plumbing skills covering various topics including electrical principles and processes, common plumbing processes, cold water systems, domestic hot water systems, sanitation, central heating systems and drainage systems. Upon completion of this course, you will be able to work out in the industry! We will be hiring additional staff to accommodate a higher number of students and we are determined to get more people out working trades than ever before, we have plenty of information about all of our training courses on this website and check out our Youtube to see the great work that we do for yourself.
What if I'm not sure about attending the centre?
Although we can guarantee our centre is as safe as possible, we understand that some people will still want to avoid public places. If you are still interested in training then note that we have a few alternative training methods available. For example, our Home Study Level 2 Plumbing Course option is a great way to get learning in your own time and space. This course works by giving you the materials needed to learn the theory surrounding the trade of plumbing, our 'Home-Study Pack' will include everything you need and can be sent to you straight away! We are also preparing virtual training options for both Gas courses and Plumbing courses!

We have our own accommodation which is available on a room only basis and is located only 5 minutes from the Training Centre. The Accommodation is owned by Able Skills and will only ever be used by our students; the property also has a large car park so, for any of our visitors who are considering driving to us, vehicles can be left there quite safely.
