A BBC show that aims to find the best young plumber in the UK could lead to increased demand for plumbing courses in the country.
Young Plumber of the Year will look for the finest workers in the profession aged between 16 and 25, with the deadline for entry being July 31st 2010.
This level of exposure to the trade may lead to a rise in interest in plumbing courses, with the managing director of Better Bathrooms - a company helping out with the search - saying it would be enormously proud if the winner came from the north-west of England.
"As a bathroom retailer, we naturally get lots of plumbers through our doors, so it's a perfect opportunity to promote the idea to them," said Colin Stevens.
The programme is part of the Young Talent of the Year series, which is also seeking ambassadors to represent several other professions, such as butchers, fishmongers and hairdressers.
