Tradespersons who have taken plumber training courses could find themselves in demand to help homeowners ensure their property's plumbing is in good condition.
According to Drain Doctor, spring is an ideal time for people to carry out jobs such as making sure the plumbing and drains are all in working order.
The company - which was formed in 1993 - advised inspecting toilet cisterns for operation and wear, installing a strainer in plug holes and checking stop valves are not in the process of corroding.
However, Robin Banks, Drain Doctor Plumbing's national operations manager, suggested people should hire a fully-qualified professional to take a look.
"If you find a problem, or suspect there may be one, have an established plumber inspect pipes for leaks, damage and corrosion," he said.
With the Easter weekend coming up, it could be that workers with approved plumbing qualifications find their services are increasingly needed to help homeowners keep their plumbing in order.
