Plumbing courses are some of our most popular training options. We offer a full range of plumbing training options, whether you are looking to learn the absolute basics through something like our 5-day Introduction to Plumbing course or you are an experienced worker looking to achieve a Nation Vocational Qualification with our NVQ options, we have you covered. There has never been a more obvious time to think about your current employment and if you need to make a change of direction, now is the time to take action. With the new lockdown coming into effect on the 5th of November we are continuing to operate as usual as a place of education, however, we are taking the social distancing measures seriously and want to provide a space that is both safe and reliable for our students and staff. As you can see below among the many other changes we have made you can see students are wearing face coverings and are working individually in our workshops...

Which course is right for me?
Depending on what you are looking to get from training with us will depend on the course that we would recommend. For example if you want to gain a taste of the trade and learn the basics maybe for DIY purposes then you should be looking at our week-long Introduction to Plumbing course - This training option offer 5-days of hands-on practical experience accompanied by one of our expert instructors. This course has been recognised as a great introduction to the trade and therefore those who complete the this introductory course will be provided with an Able Skills certificate, assured by City & Guilds.
Want to kick-start a career? If you are seriously considering a career in the trade then you will need to be looking towards achieving a recognised qualification. Our City & Guilds Level 2 Plumbing course is the perfect starting point for anyone working towards becoming a professional. This option is 6-weeks in total and will ultimately teach you to become a plumber from scratch. The course will be taught through a mix of hands-on practical experience and classroom-based theory sessions to help you understand the ideas behind plumbing processes, definitions, calculations and so on. Currently we have spaces available on this option starting from the 19th of April 2021!
Want to get started sooner? We are very busy at the moment not just due to delay coronavirus has caused but generally there are many people looking for training opportunities with all the uncertainty surrounding employment and the loss of jobs. However, you can get started right now with our Level 2 Home-Study option! This is a fantastic training option that allows you to get started from the comfort of your own home. This course works by replacing the instructor with our specially crafted 'Home-Study Pack' for the theory side of the qualification before attending the centre at a later date to learn the practical side of the trade and complete the relevant assessments. This is a great way to earn the exact same qualification starting at home during lockdown.

You are also completely welcome to come and visit our centre in person, we encourage anybody who is interested in training to come and talk to us in person and see what we are all about, we can even take you on a guided tour around our facilities so that you know what to expect from us whilst taking plumbing courses or any other training at Able Skills - Our office is open 7-days-a-week between the hours of 8:30 - 16:30!
If you live a considerable distance from our training centre then you may have already thought about booking accomodation in the local area such as a hotel for the duration of your Plumbing training courses. We actually offer our own accomodation exclusively to our students for the reasonable price of just £20 per night! The properties will provide you with your own fully furnished room with washing facilities and TV. There are several bathrooms/WCs as well as fully fitted kitchens and a dining areas to eat and/or meet your fellow students. - If you are interested make sure to contact us
