Plumbing & Gas in the same course?
Learning the two skills plumbing & gas through our City & Guilds Level 2 Plumbing & Gas Course at the same time will save you in the long run as most professional plumbers eventually find themselves taking on the trade of gas for a number of reasons. Mainly the ability to work both trades means that you access to a larger range of jobs and opportunities and is extremely beneficial if you plan on working on a self-employed basis. - We have spaces available for this course starting in April, June & August!

How does the course work?
Obviously we do not expect or want you to learn the two trades at the exact same time, that would be confusing and not efficient. You will first take on the Level 2 Plumbing qualification over a period of 6-weeks, complete exams and then move on to learning Gas over a period of 5-weeks. Both the Plumbing and Gas courses are a mixture of practical and classroom based tuition and progress is monitored by way of multiple choice exams and theory/practical assessments. Upon successful completion of the gas section of this two part course, you will be provided with a Bpec Foundation Portfolio and guidance for completion, which is a requirement when looking to become a Gas Engineer.

Plumbing courses / Gas courses here at Able Skills are run by our expert instructors who have years of experience, working both out in the industry and now teaching here at Able Skills. There is nothing that they don't know about the trades, they have seen and overcome every situation possible and have experienced on a daily basis the job that you are aspiring to get to...So whilst studying here do not be afraid to ask questions and seek advice during your course, after all that is what you are here for to learn. Also keep in mind that you are surrounded by people in the same situation as you, meaning that this could be a great opportunity for networking and making friends who could help you later on whilst a professional.
Both the level 2 Plumbing and the Gas training aspects of this package are available Full Time, Part Time at Weekends (on a 2 weekend on and 2 weekend off basis) and the Plumbing aspect is also available as a Home Study option whereby you can attend in pre-designated separate weekly blocks over a longer period of time. If you live a considerable distance from our centre here in Dartford then be aware that we do offer some accommodation, however spaces a limited so make sure to contact us about availability in advance of the start date of your course. Accommodation is priced at £20 per night and is located just a short walk away from our facility.
