Plumbing courses that start at home!
Able Skills is one of the biggest training centres in the country. Plumbing courses are very popular here at our centre as aspiring plumbers look to gain the knowledge and skills they need to enter the industry. Unfortunately, we are now fully booked until the end of the year. However, you could get started right now with our Home-Study option. We are very flexible when it comes to how people train with us, whether it's weekend training or alternative payment methods. Home-Study courses like our Home-Study Level 2 Plumbing course is a great way to start working towards a new career in the comfort of your own home, study at your own pace and gain valuable trade knowledge.
How does this option work?
This option works by replacing the instructor for the theory side of the course with our 'Home-Study Pack' which includes all of the theory behind this qualification. We will send the pack straight to your door, the pack will contain all of the relevant information, calculations and even test questions so that you can check your knowledge as you study. We recommend that you really do take your time to absorb everything you have been sent, we recommend at least 6-weeks to fully understand the theory, this is to ensure that you do not fall behind once you attend the centre.
Once you feel confident that you have studied the provided information to a good level, you will need to contact us and book 4 separate weekly slots that suit you. During these 4-weeks you will learn the practical side of the trade, getting stuck in with some hands-on experience guided by our expert instructors. The time spent at the centre will be very comprehensive and will cover a huge amount of topics including; Cold water systems, Domestic hot water systems, Sanitation, Central heating systems, Drainage systems and much more. To complete the course and achieve your qualification you'll need to undertake both practical assessments and online tests taken here at Able Skills in our dedicated exam room.

Getting started with this alternative training option is easy. Just give us a call on 01322 280 202 or you can visit us here at the centre in person. In person we can answer any questions you have, provide guidance and even take you on a guided tour around the centre so that you know what to expect when you attend the centre for the practical side of the training course. Once you have booked the course with us we will send you the 'Home-Study Pack' as soon as possible.

If you live outside of the local area then you may be thinking about securing accomodation in the local area. Did you know that we have our own accommodation? Our accomodation is located just a short walking distance from our training centre and can be booked for the reasonable price of just £20 per night! - If you are interested make sure to contact us ahead of your courses' starting date as spaces are limited!
