A plumbing training apprentice has spoken out about realising his dream to become a plumber.

Zaid Mouhou, who grew up in a Moroccan desert village, told Daily Commercial News that he was told a career in plumbing was a good option as there is a shortage of skilled tradespeople.

A friend of Mr Mouhou, Laura Parsons appears to expect a glittering career for the ambitious man: "Once he gets into the system, I am confident he will excel."

Mr Mouhou stated that he knows he has the skills necessary to become a plumber and explained how he applied to the joint apprenticeship training programme at his local plumbing union, making a good application and including several references.

In related news, apprentices like Mr Mouhou will be made aware of the opportunities available for UK workers in the construction industry in the Netherlands at an industry conference next month.
