Demand for electrical courses in Scotland may increase in the future as a result of the investment provided by Iberdrola, since one source has suggested many jobs will be created.
Chief executive of Friends of the Earth Scotland Duncan McLaren claimed the investment the nation is set to receive from the Spanish firm could help it to achieve its potential in terms of sustainable energy production.
He suggested more companies could follow in the footsteps of Iberdrola, as the number of workers with the right skills and qualifications for the industry - such as electrical courses - in the area is likely to rise.
"Iberdrola's commitment to low carbon development in Scotland is welcome. Scotland's potential to create and sustain quality jobs in renewable energy is indisputable," said Mr McLaren.
