Energy and climate change secretary Chris Huhne has delivered a speech showing his support for people in green power jobs and renewable energy courses.
Speaking at the Scottish Renewables conference in Glasgow on Tuesday (March 22nd), the MP pointed out that his job is not to offer "warm words", but to ensure that new projects can go ahead efficiently.
Mr Huhne noted that delays will only end up costing the industry and consumers more and vowed to do his utmost to remove barriers to progress.
His thoughts are likely to have been well-received by technicians on renewable energy courses in Scotland, as they will be keen to find work on green power projects soon.
"If we are to meet our climate change targets, Scotland will be 'mission critical'. Success here will define our low carbon legacy," said Mr Huhne.
Last week, climate change minister Greg Barker reaffirmed the government's commitment to microgeneration technologies, saying they are part of the coalition's green vision.
