Engineers studying electrical course qualifications may find more employment opportunities as a result of green energy reward systems offered by the government.
BritishEco.com spokesperson Matt Hunt highlighted incentives such as those relating to photovoltaic generators as being the sort of initiatives that are keeping many customers interested in environmentally-friendly technology.
The installation of green energy equipment could require the skills of a technician who has completed an electrical course, suggesting such professionals will be eager for such devices to be popular.
"There is still a desire from people to make their houses environmentally sound, especially if they are rewarded with fixed tariffs and things," said Mr Hunt.
He rejected the idea that consumers may be getting bored by environmental concerns and claimed the real issue at the moment is affordability.
Mr Hunt's remarks follow the publication of The Energy Saving Trust's latest Attitude Tracker, which indicated that 74 per cent of respondents are considering ways of lowering their utility bills.
