We take safety seriously on our Gas courses!
Here at Able Skills, we are training again, providing gas courses. We have students in our centre every day working towards new careers in trades like Plumbing, Electrics and of course Gas. Safety measures are in place here at the centre to ensure social distancing to prevent the spread of Covid-19. However, today let's look at safety generally in this trade. Installing gas boilers is an inherently dangerous occupation, which is why safety is prioritised throughout a Gas engineer’s career.
Gas Training Courses at Able Skills.
Having awareness and being safe on the job is best learnt during training. Health and Saftey are taken very seriously by representatives in the industry including the registry body that all Gas engineers must register with, the Gas Safe Register. Once you're Gas Safe registered, it lasts 12 months - so you'll need to renew one year from the date you registered. Obviously these are strange times and Due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation, some engineers have had their qualifications temporarily extended whilst lockdown and social distancing measures are in place. However, usually, an update is required every year.
The focus on safety as part of Gas Engineers' training is not just about ensuring the finished installation is safe for the end-user either; it is equally important to ensure safe working practices while on-site for yourself. Our Gas courses come in packages such as our New Entrant Gas Training Package 2 - During this course you'll learn the skills that are required for you to eventually be in a position to register with Gas Safe. This package of learning is devised to take you step by step through the various training in the essential skills required to become a safe and competent Gas Engineer.

This 7-week gas training course will teach you to become an engineer from scratch! Covering a large range of topics we are confident that upon completion of this course and with the help of our talented instructors you can go on to start a successful life-long career!
