The demand for bricklayers:
There is a high demand for bricklayers at the moment, due to the current rate of construction work! This demand for people to get into bricklaying and other construction trades comes from the amount of housing being built in the UK.
Bricklayers, in particular, are seeing a massive spike in their earnings. According to recent statistics, some bricklayers are earning £1,000 a week!
There is good money for bricklaying out there to be earned! Doesn't It seem like the best time to get into this trade? The number of workers is low therefore there is plenty of opportunity in the industry and you won't be short of a job, I've spoken to many students on a variety of bricklaying courses and they mostly explain how they weren't happy in their line of work and are looking for something more rewarding. It's the icing on the cake that brickies' are earning so much at the moment!
For example, when speaking to Jake he talked about how he was currently unemployed and that his friend seemed very happy in his new job, bricklaying never seemed like something to get into but he said he was earning a decent living and enjoying it immensely, so I decided to give it a go I looked up bricklaying courses and came across Able Skills.

Bricklaying Course Options:
We run an Introduction to Bricklaying Course that will help you grasp the basics and get an idea about what real-world site work will be all about!
If you have basic skills in bricklaying or you have taken one of our introductory courses, why not further your ability and take an Advanced Bricklaying Course. This will help you to become quicker and improve technique as well as understanding more complex skills in bricklaying. From building an archway to ornate pillars, this is a very hands-on course, which runs for five days.
If you’re looking to gain a qualification in bricklaying then you should consider our City & Guilds Bricklaying Course. This course, in particular, will be hands-on practical learning and theory surrounding health & safety. During your time on this course, our qualified bricklaying assessors will assess you. The entire City & Guilds process is completed here on site at Able Skills, which ensures this course is delivered using the correct procedures, and for your convenience.
If you have completed the City & Guilds Bricklaying Course and would like to gain more training then you can upgrade to a City & Guilds Certificate & Training to NVQ Level 2. This course is 8-weeks long and can be taken at your discretion, over weekdays or during the weekends. Any candidate completing this NVQ Level 2 Bricklaying Course will leave completely ready for construction site employment.
Throughout the 8-weeks you will be trained and assessed to achieve a City & Guilds qualification as well as receive training that will reflect real-world site work. Then at the end of your time here at Able Skills, you will need to gain a CSCS card. Then whilst working on site, we will send an Able Skills assessor out to judge your competence in the workplace. You will have to have your progress monitored and recorded in order to be certificated for the NVQ Level 2.
There is a bricklaying course option for every skill level and all are welcome! We currently have 2 bricklaying instructors ready to help you on the right path towards a successful career in bricklaying.
