Qualified and experienced electricians who wish to design, install, commission and service solar PV systems can take solar PV courses, which are accredited by NICEIC. The courses cover most of the small-scale domestic solar PV systems that are used in the UK. It will take around three or four days depending on whether the candidate needs to complete a Health and Safety course in conjunction with the solar PV course. It is also possible to train to work in the commercial/industrial sector with City & Guilds.
Those wishing to complete the domestic course must have studied and passed 17th Edition and full electrical courses.
