Start the decade right, Introduction to Plumbing!
Here at Able Skills we teach a range of different trades, one of our most popular is the skill of plumbing, to start out in this trade can be daunting for some - so instead of jumping into the deep end with our City & Guilds Level 2 Plumbing Course we recommend that you first take on our Introduction to Plumbing Course as it will both give you the fundamental basics of the trade but also an opportunity for you personally to decide whether or not the trade is for you and if you want to continue with further, more advanced training in terms of plumbing courses...

What will I learn?
From working with Copper Pipe at 15mm and 22mm to installing a basic bathroom install. All the way from soldering copper pipe frames to learning bending techniques and installing a bathroom, basin and toilet. This will give you all the basic skills needed to be able to then move onto a full qualification or carry out some basic pipework in your own home. See here some of the topics we will work through:
- Plumbing systems and fittings
- Soldering techniques
- Jointing, bending and pressure testing copper tube
- Dealing with valves, taps, cisterns
- Plumbing pipework
This course is entirely hands on and is ideal for anyone looking to learn basic domestic plumbing but additionally can act as a great taster course for anyone who is considering Plumbing qualifications and a career as a Plumber. The course will cover all of the obvious issues that can arise within a domestic property in an attempt to teach you how to deal with certain things but more importantly, will provide guidance on when/if you really do need to call out a Plumber.

If you live a considerable distance from our centre, please be aware that we do have accommodation available to our students for the reasonable price of £20 per night. The accommodation is located just a short walk away from our centre. We hope that this gives some relief to students who are eager to gain training that live just out of reach.
