One thing students have in common is studying towards a course they enjoy with the intention to work for themselves. Today we see why James Chaplin chose to leave a 9-5 office role in banking to pursue a prosperous career within the electrical trade and enroll on an Electrical Course here at Able Skills.
James has been studying for his City & Guilds Level 2 Electrical Course after having enough of his ‘sit down all day’ job. Some may ask James as to why he left what people would assume to be a potentially good career. When asked such a question, he is quick to reply with ‘after sitting down all day I decided enough was enough. I wanted a hands on role at heart and thought to myself the electrical industry continues to grow so I simply handed my notice in’.
James chose this electrical course because he was new to the industry and wanted to progress quickly. We continue to see this more often as students see the potential to make a good living by doing what they enjoy and to more importantly do so without wasting time. James said he did think about studying for his electrical course on weekends allowing him to work around his banking job. However, he had a clear plan in his mind and liked the flexibility that was on offer and said he simply didn’t want to work for anyone else anymore.
When asking James what he thought of his learning experience he replied, ‘Excellent course. Coming from a banking background I learnt more than I ever had. My teacher kept me engaged. I of course looked around and no one could offer the facilities Able Skills had. I had so much space to learn and couldn’t be happier with taking the risk to leave my job’. James then mentioned how he always looks to online reviews to gain further insight into what a company is really like. He said he came across our independent review site and saw such great feedback that he was confident Able Skills was the right place for him.
James continued to mention how easy it was to enrol after explaining, ‘I paid a small deposit to secure my place and chose the option to pay the remainder of the course interest free over time’. He went on to say ‘this helped me to keep afloat while I learn and would recommend this option to anyone looking to study at Able Skills’.
James plans on coming back in the future to achieve his City & Guilds Level 3 Electrical Course after gaining more practical experience.
