Looking back to the 20th August 2012, this is the date when Netti first began her long journey with us here at Able Skills. Since then, she has completed nearly every electrical course we offer, on the way to becoming an excellent electrician. She is still looking to complete her Level 3 NVQ with us to take her to the next level in her career.

Netti is a great example of how women are working their way into the trades. Women now make up 6% of the industry and at Able Skills we enjoy helping them take that first step. Thanks to Able Skills, Netti is one of that growing number.

We caught up with Netti recently to ask her a few questions. We spoke about how successful her courses have been and how she has received loads of help from everyone involved – from the tutors to the ‘always helpful staff at the office’. Netti is known by everyone here, with people only having positive things to say. It just shows how hard working and committed she has been to her qualifications and learning.

The question we had to ask was why she keeps coming back. She answered that she just wants to go further in her career as an electrician and loves doing that at Able Skills.

Netti has completed five electrical courses with us. She’s now on her way to completing the Electrical Level 3 NVQ. Her previous courses include:

  • City & Guilds 2330 Level 3 Electrical Course
  • 17th Edition Electrical Course
  • Testing and Inspections 2394
  • City & Guilds 2395 Award in the Periodic Inspection, Testing & Certification of Electrical Installations

She said the value for her money has been excellent and she has got everything she wanted and more. She went on to talk about the convenience of doing some of her courses over the weekend, as it meant there was no disruption to her work. The flexibility of our courses has definitely been a real plus point.

As Netti has very clearly enjoyed all of the courses she has taken with us at Able Skills, we asked whether she would recommend us. She was very happy to inform us that she had already recommended us to a friend. This is great for Able Skills because not only does it spread the word about what we do, but it tells us that our current students enjoy working with us.

Back in 2012 Netti found us when searching on the internet. Since then, she’s never looked back on the way to becoming a great electrician.
Throughout her courses she’s had many different instructors. So, we asked her which instructor has been most helpful throughout her time. She singled out Stan, for getting her through the hardest parts of her training. But she added that all of tutors have been very welcoming and helpful.

Netti is still planning on doing more courses, including the 2396 Level 4 Award in the Design and Verification of Electrical Installations. This just shows the dedication and determination that our students have to get their careers going and to expand their skills and knowledge.

Netti has been a fantastic student with us over the last three years. She is a perfect example of what we do here at Able Skills. She came to us with virtually no electrical skills and she will be leaving us as a fully qualified electrician.

Being here at Able Skills has transformed her life, and her hard work has really paid off. She has achieved everything she wanted to, and much more.
