A new report has indicated that the construction sector continues to grow, which could lead to more workers opting to sign up for bricklaying courses.
The UK construction PMI for July - calculated by Markit and CIPS - stood at 54.1, which is a slight dip from the previous month's 58.4, but still indicates growth.
This trend could lead to more people completing bricklaying courses in order to find work in the sector, although economist at Markit and author of the study Sarah Ledger stressed that the impending VAT increase may have a negative effect on the situation.
"Growth of the UK construction sector slowed during July. However, this was not wholly unexpected, and likely represented a normalisation from the strong rates of expansion recorded in Q2," she added.
According to Ulster Bank's recent report of the property development industry in Ireland, the country is continuing to see its business activity deteriorate.
