Here at Able Skills we run a range of different trades, one of our most popular trades is Gas! The trade of gas is currently facing difficulty in terms of getting the volume of skilled workers to meet current demand. That's where you come in! Increased wages and plentiful job opportunities are the advantages for workers during this period of 'skill gap'. Currently our gas courses are booked up for the remainder of the year, however, we have start dates in February 2020 for our New Entrant Gas Training Package 2 - 4 spaces are still available so get in contact with us for more information!
The New-entrants Gas Training Package 2 is the best package for somebody who is new to the trade, as it includes everything you need! What we mean by this is that upon completion of this course you will have all of the elements needed in order to register with the Gas Safe Register - which is a legal requirement when attempting to carry out gas work in the UK, Guernsey and Isle of Man. The course includes 7-weeks of intense training, portfolio completion and an ACS assessment (Which will be taken in our dedicated AM2 centre here at Able Skills).

Following the completion of the 7-week training section of this package, you will begin working on portfolio completion. This involves gathering evidence of work that you have completed, which in-turn will act as proof that you can complete work to a high degree. To complete this portfolio you will need to work alongside an already registered gas engineer.
Remember! That once you have left us here at Able Skills after successfully completing this course you will need to register with the Gas Safe Register before you can legally work in any way with gas appliances, and gas in general. The ACS included in this package will need to be completed before you are eligible for Gas Safe registration and this is a requirement for all operatives involved in the installation, maintenance and servicing of domestic gas appliances and pipe-work installations. Also, every Gas Safe registered business renews their registration on an annual basis and updates their qualifications every 5 years, meaning you will need to refresh your memory on gas safety every 5-years!
