What is the 18th Edition?
The 18th Edition of The IET Wiring Regulations launched on 2 July 2018. It is, put simply, a book of the countrywide standards for electrical work. The main focus of the course that we offer is to ensure candidates understand the 18th Edition wiring regulations, where to find them in the book and how to apply these in the real world!

What's Going on at Able Skills?
Starting this week we have two new groups of candidates starting out on their 18th Edition courses! Our instructors are teaching them to gain familiarity with the layout, content and application of the wiring regulations. Then as the 3-day course progresses they will learn how to implement the regulations and what each section really means. Sometimes the regulations can be hard to follow, there is a lot of information to take in, but our instructors have experience teaching the subject and know how to convey the information effectively! Then finally they will learn about the application of the Requirements for Electrical Installations & complete an online assessment here in our centre that will prove their competence; utilising and understanding the information.
