Meet the Able Skills team
Able Skills has been providing industry-leading construction and trade training since 2002, an achievement only made possible by the incredible team we have here at the centre.
From our office staff and directors to our facilities managers and instructors, every member of the Able Skills team is passionate about delivering the best training experience possible.
Whether you’re a complete beginner taking your first step towards a new career in trade, or just want to learn some valuable DIY skills for your own projects at home, the Able Skills team approaches every individual with the same level of care and commitment, ensuring you get the most from your course.
The instructors
With more than 300 years' worth of combined experience in the construction industry, to call our incredible team of instructors experts would be a huge understatement.
All Able Skills instructors hold the required qualifications in both teaching and construction. They are all City & Guilds trained, CAA approved and are A1 Assessors and V1 Internal Verifiers, so you’re learning from the very best.
Along with their priceless experience out in the field, all of our instructors have been handpicked for their interpersonal skills, ensuring a friendly and welcoming training experience.
“Excellent. Very flexible and very approachable, all the staff really made me feel welcome. Had lots of questions when I first got here and they all helped me with my general questions pertaining to the course I wanted to do and all the ins and outs of how each course works.”
- Introduction to Plastering
“I've recently completed a 6-week C&G qualification in tiling with Able Skills and am very pleased with the teaching and experience I have received. I found Simon and Ryan (the course tutors) very good - providing simple instruction/demonstration and leaving me room to problem solve for myself (as I will need to in the real world), while always ready to answer any questions or point me in the right direction.”
- Level 2 Tiling Diploma
“This was a great hands-on course, no sitting in a classroom, just working with the materials making things that I will use in my everyday work, really enjoyed the way my tutor (Jim) explained things & showed me where I went wrong.”
- Introduction to Plumbing
Office staff
Our friendly office team is well-versed in helping you find the exact course that’s right for your level of experience and end goals. If you’re unsure about anything, they’ll be happy to point you in the right direction.
We don’t employ a sales team at Able Skills, so there’s no hard sell at any point, just honest advice on what options work best for each individual.
The facilities
Our facilities are cutting-edge and contain a mixture of old and new appliances to help students build an in-depth level of experience before entering the field.
Whether you’re looking for more information on a specific training course or have any questions about finding the centre, give us a call on 01322 280 202 and our team would be happy to advise, alternatively, you request a brochure online.
