The 9-5 office career isn’t for everyone, and a lot of people choose to put a life of emails, contracts, and office drama behind them to pick up a trade. If you choose to become an Electrician your work will vary from day to day, whether that’s part of something new or part of a larger project or maybe even a completely different project each day. This job is not limited to just one location as the industry offers a lot of freedom and flexibility. Here at Able Skills, we offer a variety of Electrical Training Courses ranging from entry-level courses to courses that are designed for those working in the industry already.
If you are looking to take your first steps to become a qualified Electrician then the best place to start would be to enroll onto our City & Guilds Level 2 Qualification. This course will teach you all the skills and knowledge that is expected of a modern Electrician through a mix of practical tasks and classroom-based theory lessons. This is often the course where people who are looking for a change in a career start their journey in the Electrical Industry. We often welcome members of the emergency services who are looking to take a step back and slowdown in life. The attraction of getting Electrician Qualifications that will allow them to then become their own boss is a huge attraction for these people. These students who are currently working in busy jobs like the emergency services often find that Home Study is the ideal way to learn for them as they are able to complete all theory work at home in their own time and then take time off from their jobs to come into our centre to complete all practical tasks.
If you are a practicing Electrician and require some updated knowledge then you may want to consider our City & Guilds Inspection & Testing Course, although there are no formal requirements, if you are enrolling onto this course it is expected that you have solid knowledge and understanding of electrical science as well as electrical installations. This course is entirely theory-based until you have to sit the mandatory practical assessment for this award.
