This week we have students starting their City & Guilds Level 2 Plumbing Course - This course is the perfect starting point for somebody looking to start a successful career in the plumbing industry. What will I learn?
Our City & Guilds Level 2 Plumbing Course will start with the absolute basics and progress on as the weeks pass to more advanced aspects of plumbing. This program of learning will teach you to become a plumber starting from scratch! Covering a range of topics such as; Electrical principles and processes, Common plumbing processes, Cold water systems, Domestic hot water systems, Sanitation, Central heating systems Drainage systems and more! The course is a mix of both classroom-based theory and hands-on practical work so that you understand the concepts behind the trade itself. This is an industry recognised, formal trade qualification and is required in order for candidates to progress further in their plumbing training to something like an NVQ.
Can't find the time?
We often hear people say that they would love to start training with us and eventually switch careers thanks to our plumbing courses but can't find the time...Whether that is down to an existing job or simply prior arrangements that you cannot escape, we have some alternative training methods that can hopefully see you training with us in no time! Here are two alternative training methods that we offer...
Weekend Training:
That's right you can complete the entire City & Guilds Level 2 Plumbing Course over a series of weekends instead of the traditional Monday - Friday. This will be on a 2-weekends a month basis and you will learn the exact same skills and theory as you would normally as well as achieving the exact same qualification. The difference is simply that the course will take you much longer to complete but may be the only option when working an existing job, hopefully this option is useful to some of you!
Home-Study:
Home-study? How does that work? Well, we do not expect you to learn the entire trade at home, however, you can reduce the amount of time you need to attend our centre by learning the theory in your own time! Learn all of the theory from our very comprehensive Plumbing manual and then when you are ready and at your leisure, arrange to come to Able Skills for required On-line exams and practical training and assessments. Our Home Study Level 2 Plumbing Course could be exactly what you need to kick start you new career in plumbing!

We will even show you around our training centre so that you can see for yourself the great work that we do here and see our workstations where you will gain practical skills during our Plumbing courses.
If you live a considerable distance from us here in Dartford, Kent then please be aware that we have accommodation available exclusively to our students for just £20 per night! - Please contact us ahead of your course's starting date as for availability as spaces are limited.
