Individuals who possess electrical qualifications may welcome news that a number of new buildings are set to be created in Shelton for the South Staffordshire and Shropshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.
Building firm BAM Construction will be responsible for the creation of the £50 million mental health facility, after winning a bid to work with the body.
Enabling works on the 120-bed facility - which will also incorporate a 24-bed low secure unit - are predicted to begin in autumn 2010, with completion of the site expected in 2012.
Commenting on the news, BAM construction director Jon Winterton said that the firm is "particularly" pleased to have secured the project.
"Our track record in health and education is outstanding but we are less well established in the mental health construction sector so Shrewsbury's long-awaited and much needed development is also a great opportunity for us," he added.
South Staffordshire and Shropshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust counts Powys Local Health Board and Telford & Wrekin Primary Care Trust among its partners.
