Workers from London who have taken tiling training courses may find that their job prospects have been boosted thanks to the construction of Olympic Park.
It was recently revealed that there are more than 9,000 people working on the big build of Olympic Park and the Olympic Village.
The Olympic Delivery Authority's (ODA) Job, Skills, Futures target aims to ensure the construction workforce is made up of at least 15 per cent of professionals from the five host boroughs - Newham, Tower Hamlets, Waltham Forest or Greenwich.
According to the body, some 20 per cent currently make up the workforce, meaning it is hitting its target.
ODA Chairman John Armitt commented: "We are meeting our commitments to ensure employment and training opportunities for people living around the Olympic Park."
He explained that he expects the big build to grow even further, calling 2010 its "toughest year", before adding that the progress being made is a "testament to the skill, professionalism and hard work" of everyone involved.
