Industry professionals who have taken a plumbing or electrician training course could reap the rewards of an increase in the number of registrations for new-build schemes in Britain last month.
According to the National House-Building Council (NHBC), October saw the highest proportion of applications - 9,163 - since July 2008 and a 45 per cent annual increase in the number of private sectors applications between August and October of this year.
Steve Turner, head of communications at the Home Builders Federation, said that this stabilisation in the market was "extremely positive".
He added that the increase was "partly down to the measures the government has put in place - in terms of stimulus measures, HomeBuy Direct and Kickstart - which are starting to filter through."
Tradespersons with approved electrical qualifications may well have benefited from the growing numbers of projects that have been applied for, with more work potentially becoming available to them.
