With the announcement from the government to extend the national restrictions for at least an additional 3-weeks, the Gas Safe Register wanted to provide engineers with the latest updates and reminders of changes that may affect your business. Here at Able Skills, we are a proud training centre that offers a high quality of Gas training courses including ACS assessments but at this moment in time, in accordance with the government's advice we are unable to offer any training until further notice. When we are able to open again we will keep everyone posted through our social media pages and via the homepage of this website!
What is the update?
Well, the Gas Safe Register has said "If your ACS gas qualifications have recently expired or are due to expire shortly, we understand that you may have some concerns about whether you will be able to continue to carry out gas work. HSE will permit registered gas engineers to remain on the Register for an additional period during the peak of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) measures, provided they maintain their Gas Safe registration and continue to work safely. This is a temporary measure and does not remove the standing requirement for registered gas engineers to maintain their ACS certification and renew certification every 5 years. Remember, you must renew your qualifications as soon as possible after the restrictions are lifted."
