Electrical course graduates looking for work could be interested in a recent announcement from Virgin Media.
According to the Sun, the internet service provider is preparing to recruit 300 apprentices to install broadband, cable TV and other services across the UK.
As part of the programme, trainees will gain an NVQ level 2 equivalent qualification in communications technology by starting out as field technicians.
Maria Miller, 22, who was one of the first apprentices selected, will now be working to offer guidance to the course's new starters.
"It's a fantastic opportunity for us to invest in the future of the business, while offering people a great start to their career," remarked Peter van den Broeck, head of Virgin Media's apprentice scheme.
Following the launch of a similar scheme, BT announced it had recruited 90 new apprentices in London to cater to increasing customer demand for broadband internet connection.
