Unfortunately, our Electrician courses are very popular and are currently booked until 2022. However, if you are thinking about starting a new career, here at Able Skills we can still help you to achieve your goal. We have been teaching both construction and technical trades for 20-years and understand what goes into becoming a profession from little to no previous experience. Due to the pandemic our Home-Study options for our Electrician courses have become a great alternative.
We will be continuing to offer these alternative routes way beyond lockdown. For those who's lifestyle doesn't allow for full-time training, learning from the comfort of your own home can be very useful. Today we want to look at how these options work and how to secure your place on the available courses.
What is a Home-Study course?
Home-Study courses are an alternative route to achieve your all-important City & Guilds qualifications. They work by splitting the course into two parts. Theory and practical. You will start with learning the theory at home. We will provide all of the necessary information within our 'Home-Study Pack' as well as providing you with the relevant City & Guilds textbooks.
Then once you feel confident that you have absorbed all of the information you will look to book your practical weeks. We offer this option for both our City & Guilds Level 2 and our City & Guilds Level 3 options. The Level 2 will require 4-weeks of practical session and the Level 3 requires 3-weeks of hands on practical tainting here at our centre.
These practical weeks will be separated over time and can be chosen to suit you. We will try to fit you in when there is space available. During this time you will learn the exact same skills and be taught by the same instructors as you would on the traditional courses and of course earn the same industry-recognised qualifications.
How do I get started?
If you are looking to make this the year for a new career give us a call on 01322 280 202! Once on the phone to one of our office members they will discuss the course options in more detail and book the course with you. As soon as you have secured your place on the course we will send you the relevant materials as well as contact details for one of our instructors in case you become stuck or confused at any point.
We hope this option is useful for those with a busy lifestyle still looking to switch paths. The flexibility is what helps students ensure bills are paid and yet still train towards a new career at the same time!
This is a great way to continue working whilst arming yourself with new skills, ability and qualifications for a new career in the trade of electrics. As you can see below our facilitates allow for a real-world experience when it comes to practical training. We ensure our students have the support and guidance they need to hone in on their installation skills whilst here at our centre.
