One of these roles is that of a commercial electrician. Think for a moment about how many businesses need electricity, you'd find it hard to think of one that doesn't...Almost every workplace is reliant on electricity and there needs to be somebody to maintain this, that is where you come in. Today we will be talking about the role of a commercial electrician and about how you can get started as an on-site through our electrician courses, focusing on our complete package, the Gold Card Approved Electrician!

Electrician courses

Electrician courses at Able Skills.

Commercial electricians will often take on a different task everyday, so for those who don't enjoy a structured daily routine this route could keep your interest in the trade and keep things engaging for you personally. From wiring lighting in an office space to planning electrical systems for new construction, the amount of jobs that you could take on over a monthly period is endless. Although the domestic route is much quicker from training to working, taking the commercial route will feel more rewarding, diverse and will be trained in a much broader spectrum of subjects and will be able to take on more variety of work.

You will also have to carry out task like Inspection and Testing on electrical systems to ensure that either your installation or an existing installation is in working order. Periodic Inspection and Testing needs to be carried out every 5-years in commercial properties. Additional to the variety of tasks that you will be taking on there is also a variety in the types of buildings that you could be working within such as schools, shopping centres, hospitals, offices, restaurants, and retail stores — basically, anything the public can readily access. You will operate in areas that domestic electricians don't have to deal with that is why there is more advanced training for this type of role, such as working from or create a blueprint of the building’s electrical system.
