What is the AM2?
The AM2 is not a training course in any way, it is simply an assessment process the purpose is to ensure that all candidates are at the same level according to industry standards. Completion of it provides a reliable and trusted guarantee of safe, high quality workmanship for the electrical industry and is highly valued by employers, who regard it as evidence of competence for an electrician. During our 3-day process aspiring electricians will need to install, terminate, connect, inspect, test, commission and diagnose faults in accordance with the installation specification provided by the assessor. At Able Skills we have a dedicated AM2 centre so that students can work their way through this process without distraction from the rest of the busy centre. You will need to understand the following in accordance with the installation specification provided by our assessor...
- Lighting and power circuits
- A three-phase distribution board and sub circuit
- A central heating/sustainable energy system
- A safety services circuit and device
- A data cabling system
