What to look for when considering Gas training!
When looking to start a career in the trade of Gas, there are many different ideas out there of how the process should work. It can all seem a little confusing for people who are new to the trade and industry simply looking for Gas courses. Here at Able Skills in Dartford, Kent we aim to make the process as simple as possible for people starting out. In fact, we include everything you need as a new entrant in one complete package. That includes; 7-weeks of training, portfolio completion and an ACS assessment - All of which are needed when you later look to become Gas Safe Registered which is a legal requirement here in the UK.

The package is our New Entrant Gas Training Package 2. This package is for New Entrants looking to access the gas industry and is aimed particularly at those who do not have a comprehensive background with regards to pipe-work and so on. So, what should I consider? Firstly, you want to know that you are attending a centre that is approved by Bpec (They are a specialised provider of industry-recognised qualifications, assessments, training courses and learning materials.) Upon successful completion of the 7-weeks of training, you will be provided with a Bpec Foundation Portfolio and guidance for completion here at our centre. This portfolio must be completed on the job working along-side a registered engineer and cannot be completed in the centre, that would be illegal and pointless for your personal progression.
What else? Well, you should be looking for a centre that has a good track record. Take some time to look at reviews and pay attention to how long they have been proving training courses. Here at our centre, for example, we have been providing Gas courses since 2002! We take pride in our ability to produce top-quality Gas Safe Registered Engineers! Becoming a gas engineer can be difficult without the correct guidance, here at our training centre we will do our absolute best to help you every step of the way from day one to employment!
