Accredited by City & Guilds, the Introduction to Plastering course is a comprehensive entry-point ideal for anyone wanting to learn basic plastering skills.
What is covered in the course?
Throughout this short five-day intensive course, participants learn the basic elements of plastering, this includes:
- Health & Safety
- PPE
- How to cut and fix plasterboard to walls and ceilings
- How to tape standard and internal joints
- How to cut and fix angle beads around windows and reveals
- How to prepare surfaces before plastering
- How to mix plastering materials
- How to skim walls and ceilings
- How to apply PVA adhesive Unibond to existing surfaces
How is the course taught?
The course is entirely workshop-based, and students learn in a hands-on fashion under the guidance of an expert plastering instructor.
Those enrolling in the course have the choice to complete the five days consecutively or across two successive weekends. If you choose the weekend option, course content will be adjusted to account for the day that is lost.
What experience is needed before enrolling?
As the Introduction to Plastering course is aimed at complete beginners, no prior experience is needed.

What could the next steps be after completing the course?
Once you have successfully completed the introductory course, you may choose to move on to more advanced plastering training and qualifications like the City & Guilds Plastering Course, NVQ Level 2 Plastering Course or a City & Guilds Level 2 Diploma.
