When is the right time to book a boiler repair? Well, there are few factors that you should think about, in the article we will go over some of the major indicators that you should give a Gas Engineer a call! Don't take the risk, get somebody in! Firstly, as soon as you know your boiler is malfunctioning it is time to get hold of a trader, there are many dangeroues things about leaving a boiler that has a problem and its much safer to get it sorted as soon as detected for the well-being of your family, neighbours and yourself!
Gas Safe Registered Engineer.
The dangers of CO emissions:
One of the most impactful consequences of ignoring a faulty boiler is CO or Carbon Monoxide...This odourless gas can be lethal, in other words, it is impossible to detect without the proper equipment. If your appliance is not burning its fuel efficiently, it could be poisoning you. In a confined environment, this can be deadly.
Remember if you are going to hire a Gas Engineer that they are Gas Safe Registered! This is a legal requirement in the UK. All Gas Safe Registered Engineers will be carrying their ID card - you can check the legitimacy of the trader by asking to see their card and typing their card number into www.gassaferegister.co.uk
A gas or electric boiler:
Now if you have a Gas Boiler then you will need to employ a Gas Safe Registered Engineer as soon as you find a fault! However, if you have an electrical boiler then you do not require a Gas Safe Registered Engineer, any heating engineer will do. The good thing about having an electric boiler is that they don’t require an annual service. There is no danger of CO emissions as there is no flame - they can be a much safer option.
