It may be obvious to most, that whilst the recession continues and house prices are yet to recover, most householders will sensibly choose to stay and make improvements to their homes, in preparation for when house prices show signs of significant improvement. According to a recent poll, more than 30 per cent of those taking part, declared they intend to renovate their bathrooms during 2009, and would do so by enlisting the services of approved and trusted tradesmen in their local area.
The poll also revealed that renovating the kitchen was the second most popular home improvement project planned, receiving nearly 30 percent of the votes, followed closely by just over 18 per cent who are transforming their bedrooms, around 14 per cent who are changing their living rooms and only roughly 3 per cent who are doing up their dining rooms.
Investing your hard earned cash into 'doing up' your home has always been a wise move at anytime, especially focusing on the bathroom and kitchen - always considered key areas when buying or selling a property. Properly renovated and maintained with up-to-date interiors and appliances will increase the value of your house and make it more attractive and desirable to a potential buyer.
It is for this reason alone that the demand for skilled and experienced plumbers, electricians, tilers and plasterers continues to surge, despite the fall in unemployment in other service sectors. It's true to say that, for those wishing to change their working lives, switch careers, or are keen to add to their skill sets, a course of training undertaken during the present recession, will pay handsome dividends indeed - especially when the econony recovers sufficiently and spending power returns.
A relatively straightforward route into the construction trades is by embarking on a short training course in tiling, plastering, decorating or general DIY home improvements. A weekend course or commitment to a fulltime intensive training block provides the necessary core knowledge and practical training to give you the confidence and competency to start your new career! It means you could be on your way to your first earning job quicker than you think!
However, a first skills course will more likely set you up for undertaking to train for the more ambitious project of a certificated course in an entire bathroom installation or in kitchen fitting. You will learn the necessary skills to carry the projects to completion, and which could enable you to advance onto further levels of NVQ training in the key plumbing and electrical trade occupations.
At AbleSkills, you have excellent training opportunities because there are many different courses for each subject, that gives you training time options to suit your schedules. It's always worth your while to give the AbleSkills team a quick call to ask any questions you may have and the to find out the right course - at the right time - for you.
