A very common option for Plumbers after they become qualified is to head over to the field of Gas. Both Plumbing Courses and Gas Courses go hand in hand and we've had many students who successfully complete their City & Guilds accredited Plumbing Course, to then come back a few months later to complete their Bpec accredited New Entrants Gas Courses. Here's a couple of reasons why:
Firstly, The Money...
Adding another skillset to what you already offer goes along way and many people, especially those who work for themselves, tend to learn as many skills as possible to maximise the amount of money they make.
Learning one trade is great to earn a living, but learning another will most definitely see a lucrative career.
Plumbing and Gas Courses Go Hand In Hand
This as well as our first point, is definitely a huge reason as to why we see more and more students head over into gas after plumbing. A lot of the services Gas & Heating Engineers provide include a lot of pipe skills, especially when it comes to radiators and bathrooms etc.
If you've hired one guy to do your boiler, more often than not you ask if they've qualified for various other bits too.
Later this week, we'll speak to a student who has undergone both and we'll discuss this matter in even more depth. For now, if you would like to find out more about the Plumbing Courses and Gas Courses we offer, please head over to our courses' page.
