Plumbing is a great trade to get into for a number of reasons - job stability is one of the major advantages, there will always be a need for plumbing professionals, the trade isn't going anywhere and currently there is even a demand for this type of work due to the on-going skills gap in the trade industry. Plumbing is also typically thought of as a domestic job and that plumbers work in peoples homes, however, there are a vast amount of different roles that you can take up later on if you choose to pursue the trade as a career. You could find a job designing plumbing systems for new buildings, deciding how to manage, repair, and expand city/municipal water systems, or developing new plumbing technologies. All of the tools and materials that this course requires will be supplied for you however it is essential that you have protective footwear (steel toe-cap boots) – suitable casual clothing is recommended as this course can get a little messy.
