Gas bays for students to gain practical experience in their own space.
We have outstanding facilities here at our training centre - we have created individual bays as pictured above so that students have their own personal space to carry out tasks provided by instructors. We feel that this gives our students a better environment to develop and learn as they are not working in a crowded environment and are working in a space that replicates a scenario they will experience whilst working out on-site.
We provide all of the materials, pipes, appliances you could possibly need during your time here - no need to bring anything.
We provide all of the materials on our Gas courses there is no need for you to bring anything with you apart from a pair of steel cap boots and yourself. We provide the piping, materiels, systems and appliances you will be used as learning tools. Our facilities have set-up stations that replicate different problems for you to fix and solve from never models of, for example, boilers to new models covering everything that you may come across working out as a professional once leaving here.

Well, the best way to start is to get stuck in...here at Able Skills we have gas courses that are specifically geared towards new entrants. For example, the Gas New Entrant Gas Training Package is 7-weeks in total, during which you will learn the skills that are required for you to eventually be in a position to register with the Gas Safe Register. This package of learning is devised to take you to step by step through the various training in the essential skills required to become a safe and competent Gas Engineer!
Gas Saftey Week!
It is currently a gas safety week! it is an opportunity for the accreditation body to raise awareness of gas safety. The week sees organisations from across the UK working together to raise awareness of the dangers of poorly maintained gas appliances, which can cause gas leaks, fires, explosions and carbon monoxide poisoning. We promote & advice that all of our students sign up to the 'Gas Safe Register' when they complete a course here as it is a legal requirement when carrying out gas work in the UK!

What is Gas Safe Register?
Gas Safe Register is the official gas registration body for the United Kingdom, Isle of Man and Guernsey, appointed by the relevant Health and Safety Authority for each area. By law, all gas engineers must be on the Gas Safe Register! The purpose of this registration body is to ensure that the public and the engineer are safe. They do this by inspecting the work of Gas Safe registered engineers and investigating reports of illegal gas work. Additionally keeping the list up-to-date and accurate means that they can keep unqualified workers out of the industry.

Already a plumber looking to add gas work to your skill-set? then do not hesitate to get involved, we have made courses that act as a quicker pathway fro qualified plumbers to get into the world of Gas - the two trades are similar in many ways and having experience working as a plumber puts you in good stead to be successful in gas courses!
The two trades obviously go together quite well and even use some of the same equipment, tools and general methods. Also in terms of the work that you will be doing as some heating systems use water and others use gas! Our Qualified Plumber Gas Training Package 1 has all that you could need, compiled in one Gas course package...This 5-week course is packed full of both practical development and theory.
